The short answer is no. The zero-flux baseline and flux
density calibrations (see FAQ Answer 6) can be
performed straightforwardly by users. The procedures are built into the
software and the necessary devices are supplied with the instrument.
We do not currently have any means by which users can check
the calibration of the RH and temperature sensors in the measurement
head. This is a specialised
task performed by Biox on new instruments and when instruments are returned
for the Passport Service. However, these sensor calibrations are fairly
stable and the user-calibrations correct for small long-term drifts.
Typically, sensor re-calibration as part of a Passport Service would
be good at 1-2 year intervals.
