Biox Systems Ltd
Biox is a spin-out company from London South Bank University (LSBU),
registered in October 2000, with backing from the university (through
SBU Enterprises Ltd) and the London Business Innovation Centre (LBIC).
Its aim is to exploit innovations from LSBU's Skin
Bioengineering Research Centre, (formerly the Photophysics Research
Centre) starting with its patented condenser-chamber method for measuring
water vapour flux density. Biox
is primarily an R&D company whose main mission is to develop
novel instruments for skin bioengineering. Much of the manufacturing
is sub-contracted, but design and quality control and are performed in-house. Biox is now active in developing a network of distributors for its products,
where local knowledge and face-to-face contacts are vital. In North America,
for example, we have been working successfully with George Kramer of
STE Inc (see Contact section of this website). In the Far East, we are
now working with Hyung Chul Lee of InTech, South Korea. But for the most
part, Biox handles sales and support-related activities from its base
in London. This is practical, since contact via e-mail, in Chinese, English,
French, German Romanian or Russian is quick. Our products are small and
rugged enough to be shipped anywhere with speed and economy.
Through direct contact with our users, we can ensure that they get the
best advice and service from us. In return, we enjoy the direct contact
with our users and view their feedback as essential for the further development
of the company and its products. The picture below is of Elliott Berg in the electronics development
lab.
