| Biox is a spin-out company from London South Bank University with strong links to the university's Biomedical Instrumentation research group. Both offer research facilities and expertise in Skin Bioengineering, ie the application of physics, and mathematics to the study of skin and other membranes.
Biox can participate in research projects either in its own right or in partnership with the university. Although closely linked and with overlapping expertise, the two are distinct in their aims and capabilities. Biox is focused on commercial exploitation whereas the university is better placed for more open-ended, medium-term research. Biox is a SME (Small to Medium sized Enterprise) whereas the university is a publicly funded teaching and research organisation.
