AF200 Measurement Head Design
|
| The AquaFlux AF200 not only relies
on an innovative new measurement principle, it also breaks new ground
in its design and construction.
The measurement head shown below is encased in a gold-plated aluminium
alloy shield, to protect it from mechanical disturbance and provide
stable conditions for measurement. It is threaded on the outside, to allow
it to be coupled quickly and securely to a variety of measurement caps
or other apparatus, giving unprecedented flexibility in use. |

To the left of the gold-plated measurement head shield is an aluminium
alloy heat sink coupled directly to a fan - part of the electronic refrigeration
system that maintains the condenser in the measurement head at a precisely
controlled temperature. The extensive use of aluminium alloys in the
construction of the measurement head reduces the weight of the entire
probe to a remarkably low 140gm, making it easy to handle in everyday
use.
The above design features make for a strong and durable sensor head
, with a measurement geometry that does not deform with contact pressure
on the skin. The benefits are reliability and consistency of performance
from measurement to measurement, from operator to operator and from instrument
to instrument.
