FAQ - Answer 7

Do you need to return the instrument to the factory for re-calibration ?

The short answer is no. The zero-flux baseline and flux density calibrations (see FAQ Answer 6) can be performed straightforwardly by users. The procedures are built into the software and the necessary devices are supplied with the instrument.

We do not currently have any means by which users can check the calibration of the RH and temperature sensors in the measurement head. This is a specialised task performed by Biox on new instruments and when instruments are returned for the Passport Service. However, these sensor calibrations are fairly stable and the user-calibrations correct for small long-term drifts.

Typically, sensor re-calibration as part of a Passport Service would be good at 1-2 year intervals.
